This risk assessment assesses the hazards and actions peculiar to this particular activity or venue. |
Explain all archery terms and dangers.
All participants to stay behind waiting line until called forward

All sessions run by qualified/trained instructors

Equipment
|
All equipment to be checked before and after each session and repaired or replaced where necessary.
Give clear instructions and demonstration at the beginning of each session.

Loose clothing & hair
|
Arm guards to be worn at all sessions.
Long hair to be tied back

Damage to forearm from string
|
Ensure long sleeve tops are worn where possible.
Arm guards to be worn.

Arrows
|
All participants to be made aware of correct arrow collection.
No running to targets or with arrows.
Arrows must never to shot into the air.

Archery area

No-one should move forward over the waiting line or towards the target without permission from the instructor.

Misbehavior
|
Misbehavior will not be tolerated as archery can be a potentially dangerous activity, any misbehavior and the session will be cancelled

Spectators
|
Spectators must stay behind the waiting line.
